I was so sorry to hear sad news that our friend Julia had died. She was a force of nature who had so many interests and a such a varied career over so many years. She was a very popular member for years of our Italian class and always entertained us during those years. We continued to meet regularly after class, when she had discontinued lessons, for a chat and low down on all her news. She had a special place in all of our hearts and we will all miss her. May she rest in eternal peace.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Sheila's (Julie Anne} passing. Sheila was a teaching colleague in Connolly College, North Strand for almost twenty years. During that time and since I have been privileged to know and to remember her as a loyal, supportive friend and colleague, generous and kind, full of good humour with many talents which were always understated due to her innate modesty.

Julia Anne was a valued member of Chiara Buldorini’s Italian class at Ballsbridge College for many years. She also came on several trips to Italy - to Brisighella, Sardinia, Ischia and Sicily and she often spoke of her affection for Venice. Sheila and I worked together for many years in North Strand. She was a highly respected and dedicated member of our teaching staff but she was so much more -a qualified nurse, an artist, a pianist, a seamstress, a gardener, a french polisher and a language enthusiast to name but a few.
In all of these roles Sheila was a perfectionist.
Although she loved to travel she was always so proud of her farming background and her Mullinahone roots.
She was a no nonsense person, full of common sense and integrity.
She was a most interesting conversationalist, witty and funny too and we had many a good laugh. I will miss our chats.
