Ken was the only person to have a personal ring tone on my phone, which he set up himself, I really miss you Ken, I think I’ll leave the ring tone in place!
— Hugh Sheridan
For a few years prior to Covid Ken and I would sometimes find ourselves the first arrivals in the barristers' tea rooms in the morning. We gradually drifted into a "semi-regular" habit of having early bird coffees together. Whatever the weather, however frazzled one arrived or whatever daunting task lay ahead there was no better pick me up than a ten minute coffee with Ken. Ken had countless talents but for me the essence of Ken was that Ken liked people and people liked Ken. For the many times when Ken's warmth, irrepressible grin and deft telling of a good yarn turned my frown into a smile I am truly grateful. My sincere sympathy to Ken's family. The world is much the poorer for the passing of the big hearted, vibrant tour de force that was Ken but he has left a treasure trove of positive impressions in his wake. May Ken rest in peace and may memories of Ken be of comfort to his family.
— Maura King formerly law library
Good old Ken.
Thought I'd never forgive him for going at full speed from the Howth Summit to Sutton Cross with me on the cross bar of his bike and him lifting his hands in the air and laughing to my panic. But I did, and valued his great friendship over our teenage years. So many memories, of De La Salle and the Clontarf Grove disco. So many laughs we had.
Even my family (who had grips about everyone!) just loved Ken and even decades after we lost touch they still asked me " How is Ken?".
He made a deep impression on everyone he came into contact.
I am so sorry he is gone , but for me he will always be the lively , messing, lovable Ken that I knew of old - to my dying day. I think of him often.
— Brendan Cooney

Memories of Ken always go back to Claremorris and a late hotel night during the papal visit. Two professors from a certain very central Dublin College challenged us to a debate. They wouldn’t pick a topic as they felt that they had an edge. Ken picked the “plight of the lemmings”. Needless to say he walked away with the prize of the bottle. A sign of where he might end up.
Sleep well on the next stage of your journey Ken. Condolences to all his family. RIP Ken

I am so saddened and shocked at Ken’s passing. The words echoed here show how widely revered Ken was by all who knew him. Ken had this amazing infectious ability to light up any room with his smile and a twinkle in his eye. You always loved to hear from him and spend time with him. He had time for everyone and showed everyone kindness, respect and caring. To say he will be missed is a gross understanding. Words fail us all at times like these. Ken was the very best of all of us. His loss will be immense and unfathomable. To his family and extensive circle of friends, I extend my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences.
