Kerrie or Ms Whelan as I knew her, was one of the most genuine and kindest people I’ve ever met. Kerrie was my teacher and my guidance counsellor in both 5th and 6th year. She cared so much about every single student and I will never be able to thank her enough for the support she gave me during the toughest years of my life. Her classes were fun and enjoyable, her passion was so evident and she put her all into the subject and bringing out that passion in each individual student. She always made sure everyone was okay, constantly checking up on people and doing whatever she could to help you with whatever you needed. She was by far the best teacher I ever had, she will be missed by many ❤️
— Former DCC student
Our deepest condolences to Robbie, Skylar and Storm. We were lucky to know Kerrie as a neighbour and later as a teacher in Clonturk. Her warmth, kindness, and laugh will stay with us. I loved meeting Kerrie and the girls in Coolock Library, and hearing of the science experiments that she was planning when they got home! May her great light continue to shine down on you and give you strength in the days ahead.
— Lara, Hans, Ciaran and Sean (Clonmel Road)
Deepest condolences to Robbie and the girls and all kerries family and friends at this time. Thinking of ye all

Kerrie, you were and always will be an inspirational woman. You lived your life with joy and passion. You always had time for your colleagues and made everyone feel like your best friend. The world is darker now with you gone, but I will strive to recognise and remember you in every ray of sunshine I see, and every peel of laughter I hear.

To your family, especially your two beautiful girls Storm and Skylar, it was clear every time Kerrie spoke of you just how much you meant to her and that she loved you immeasurably. That love she had for you will never die.

Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí ort go deo Kerrie, and may your next journey through the universe be as meaningful as this one.
— Cian

What an amazing woman Kerrie was and what a legacy she has left behind. If I ever spotted Kerrie anywhere, I would be straight over to her, as I aways walked away laughing my head off and smiling away. She was a gas character, but so kind and clever too.
