I was saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Carroll who I remember from my dancing days at Feis Shligigh in the late 60's. Although gone from Sligo for a very long time, I am aware of his tremendous commitment and contribution to the running of Feis Shligigh over very many years. I particularly recall seeing Kevin and his dancing partner's competing in the Senior Ceili Dancing Competitions downstairs in Sligo Town Hall and thinking just how good his carriage and footwork was.

Sincere condolences to Kevins' son's and their families, his sisters and to all members of the extended Carroll family. May Kevin Rest in Eternal Peace and May His Memory Be a Blessing.

RIP Kevin. I have so many fond memories with you and Maureen when we travelled around Ireland and to Chicago with Sive. Thanks for all the laughs, company and great times. Truly cherished memories.

Those of us who had the pleasure of competing in Feis Shligigh will each have fond memories of Kevin’s love of Irish culture. At the start of each competition Kevin had the gift of elequently setting the athosphere for the event by recalling the history of the cup and previous winners thereby building up the anticipation of the audience and competitors - so much so that we felt like we were competing in the World Championships.
