I crossed the street the first time I saw Liam, he scared me!
Then at 18 I fell in love, his magnetic personality, that cheeky grin, his sense of adventure, his lust for life. He made me laugh. To my young self he was so much fun, so wordly-wise, so "goddamn cool"!
We have passed in and out of each other's lives for many years, we fell out / we fell in; we laughed / we cried.
Liam was important. Liam was loved. I miss him already.

Liam was always ahead of the curve, sharp, suave and erudite. The first time I met him I recognised a kindred spirit. We had some wild times and pushed the envelope hard. Later on ,even in adversity he kept up a positive outlook and had many second comings. Lock and load my old friend .

He was a kind gentle soul , articulate , loved music , film , and literature, and you could have such great deep conversations about them all .

So sorry to hear about Liam. I was in Filmschool with him and we worked together on many things and had many laughs. I wish I could be there today for the funeral but I am floored with a flu. RIP Liam. I’ll miss you and our times together.

I will always remember the first time Senan showed me Liam's Rolling Stones records. The impact was seismic for me and we spent the rest of the 1970s listening to rock and roll, the best education ever!
In the early 1980s I met Liam on the 46A to Dun Laoghaire (an iconic song in itself) and he seemed to have found an outlet for his creative talents. I always wondered if the teenage rebel turned into the satisfied 20 something. I hope he did.
Like all trailblazers he lived with risk but at least he left a mark. Work done, rest in peace.
