Sincere sadness at the death of Margaret, my condolences to her children & the O'Connell family.
I remember years ago, before the story of the Blackberry Picking was published in a Bagenalstown booklet, reading her recollections of picking blackberries in Ireland in an Irish publication in the U.K. & how the boys added a little water to the container to increase the weight of the blackberries, it did not mention the town or county where this occurred, or the author's name, I gathered it was one of the O'Connell's who had written it, her meticulous observation & recording of the events were so accurate, I realised straight away this could only have happened in Bagenalstown, she told me years later it was she who wrote the piece, a wonderful piece of Bagenalstown history recorded by her, save it. Rest in peace Margaret.
