A true Limerick legend! While staying with Pat O’Connor, he introduced me to his brother, Martin. Martin introduced me to cowheys, the malt bar and was generous enough to organize tours of St Mary’s Parish for the Mary Immaculate students.
He was a proud Limerick/Kerry man who worked tirelessly for the working
class community. Rest in peace Martin and Pat, great men of Limerick!
— Samuel E Lilley
Condolences to Martin's Family & friends, Parish will miss his kind humour and wit. He truly was a gentleman. I am sure Mary B had a warm welcome for him. To Mary & Karen and extended family you will no doubt be reminded of Martin in so many different ways. Rest in peace Martin. Janet ( ex Grove Island)

Martin was a very thoughtful person who loved his Parrish and family. He was loyal, caring and had a brilliant sense of humour! He loved the craic, politics and Irish music. He was a real character, who always warned me of the dangers of following the English Premier League while encouraging me to pursue rugby and GAA sports! He genuinely believed in the people around him, and always had a bit of news with a warm grin and a poetic way of expressing himself.
He often spent Christmas with us enjoying good food, drink and the latest film of which we would critique and mull over afterwards.
He will be greatly missed, rest in peace Martin love always. ☘️🇮🇪☘️
