My sincere sympathy to all Mary’s family, I have just heard of her passing RIP. Mary was a kind friend to me when we met in PPI.
May she rest in peace.
— Kay Duffy
I was shocked and so saddened to hear today of Mary’s passing. My deepest sympathy to Robin, Colm, Geraldine, Malachy and all the Menton family. Mary was really wonderful and great fun to meet. I dealt with her over many years, firstly with MEM and later with the Speakers Bureau. She was so professional, loyal and I always felt better for meeting her. We haven’t met for a couple of years, so I wasn’t aware she was ill. May she rest in the peace she richly deserves.
— Elizabeth Hedigan

Very sad to hear this and my condolences to her family. I first met Mary when she ran the Hope hostel in Dublin. She was a fearless, imaginative and outspoken campaigner with enviable personal skills in speaking truth to power. An example of what social work should be about. She was then a leading light in the National Campaign for the Homeless. She was an absolute professional as a travel agent, in the media awards and speakers bureau. But will be most remembered for her personal qualities, good humour and friendship.
— Brian Harvey

I hold the fondest memories of college days, cutting my events teeth with MEM, under Mary’s warm, skillful, and generous wing. She wonderfully combined drive and determination with just the biggest, kindest, most authentic heart. May the many precious memories you share and the light of the trail that she blazed offer comfort in this season of grief and sadness. Sending so much love to Mary’s beautiful spirit on her journey homeward x

Cant believe we are getting ready to say goodbye to Mary today. A truly wonderful woman who gave so much to everyone she met without even thinking of the cost to herself.
I could never understand how she didnt end up in a & e whilst trying to control the 6in high heels she wore on her feet mostly every day.
A character who brought warmth and love to every room she walked into.
Thankyou for your friendship, generosity and love throught the years something that will never be forgotten.
I have no doubt you will get a seat at the top table up above as you truly deserve it.
God Bless you we will never forget you 💔
— Sheila and Michael Kelly
This wonderful woman, the unsurpassable Mary Menton, taken from us far too soon 💔. Mary was my boss when I moved to Ireland in 2001 at MEM and soon became my second mum, my mentor and my confidante. She took a chance on me, offered me a job and gave me so, so much more. She taught me endless skills and set me on my career path. She drove me potty at times, but we never had a cross word. We would go shopping on the way back from meetings… we laughed and laughed at work. At one stage she genuinely entertained us getting an MEM branded pink Vespa to take us both to meetings. The idea was only overturned when she realised the helmet would ruin her hair...
I saw her in Feb this year for the first time in a long time, because of lockdown, and was able to thank her for all she did and all she gave me (it’s thanks to her I met my husband). I’m so grateful we had that last time together and how we laughed and reminisced…
Mary - the world is a darker place with you and your energy gone. Thank you for giving me my husband and some wonderful friends who nearly 25 years on are still some of the best. To Robin and every Menton who I had the supreme pleasure in knowing over the years, you are all special and you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and rest in peace dearest, stylish, funny, generous, kind Mary.
— Joanna Lawlor (nee Twining)
