I’m so sorry to only now hear of the passing of Maura, she was always so kind to me and I always loved our conversations and the advice she gave me for my life, Rest in Peace Maura❤️
— Rachel Gardiner
My sicere condolences to all the family on the passing of Maura.....just recently I heard the sad news as I was away when she died. I was absolutely devastated....we met nearly every week in Dunnes and chatted for ages..... I often steered her trolley from her usual parking space to the front door!! she always admired what I wore and she loved one particular pink cardigan I had with the promise (jokingly) I would give it to her .. I never knew her surname and she would have loved to have known that all my relations in Galway are Gallaghers. She was a beautiful elegant lady and I will miss her dearly. May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
— Marian Ruane Hayfield
My sincere sympathy to Rose, Denis, Breda, Bryan and all the Gallagher family on the passing of a beautiful individual. Maura along with Breda welcomed and entertained myself and a friend when I returned to Ireland for a visit in the early '80s. Although I did not get to meet her mother during that visit, seeing Maura, recollected fond memories of meeting her many years earlier.
Another pillar from a pretty extraordinarily talented family has gone to their rest. May her memory be a blessing
— Paul M. Gallagher

I have very fond memories of Maura from Belfast days(early 70’s) when,on few occasions, she left me in charge of sleeping baby Rose.I had nothing to do but enjoy her beautifully presented dinners and watch T.V.in their cosy home in Ladybrook Grove.
A kind, caring and very talented lady.May she Rest in Peace.
— Jacinta Dougal
My sincere condolences to Mrs McGirr's family. As a past pupil of MSC, having had 5 years of music classes with Mrs McGirr was a privilege. There are teachers, who give their pupils far more than lessons in a subject, whose positive influence remains decades later. Mrs McGirr, was of that rare breed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis. Go raibh maith agat as an gceol.
