Michael DEELY

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Deely family at this time of grief; especially to Ann, Michele and Mark who I met in TLC. Michael's room was beside my husband Desmond. As I visited often Michael used to greet me with a big smile. May his kind spirit rest in peace.

I am so sad to hear of the death of Michael. He was a colleague of mine at CBF (now Bord Bia) and used come to Italy, where I ran the office. He came with groups of Irish farmers, Teagasc (incl. Gerry Keane) and meat industry leaders to allow beef producers understand the requirements of the Italian market. I learned a lot from him. He was great fun and a true gentleman. We followed very closely the devastating disappearance of Trevor - every parent's worse nightmare. He bore that with great dignity. My sincere condolences to the Deely family and may Michael now rest in peace.

My sympathy to all of you and to your aunts, my friends from The White Mills, Loughrea, especially my classmate Roisin. Of course I knew the late Ralph and Angela also. Michael leaves memories of a fine young boy/man growing up . He and all of you were often in my thoughts and prayers as we kept hoping that Trevor would be found. Michael may trace him now from the new insights that he has from his heavenly home. Mary, Gertie and Imelda, my sympathy to each of you also. .Whenever, I think of Deelys,

I was born and raised on a small farm in South Roscommon. Michael was our Agricultural Instructor as it was known then and I have vivid memories of him calling in the 60s to talk to my late father about the latest farming developments and techniques.

I learned of Michael's death with great sadness. My condolences to Ann and the entire Deely family. I shared many platforms with him up and down the country in the interests of the beef industry. His knowledge of the industry was legendry and matched by his brilliant communication skills. Yet he was always humble, gentle and good humoured even when hurting for his beloved Trevor. It was my great privilege to liaise and travel the country with Michael during his time with IMP and CBF/Bord Bia. He knew his beef and sheep business from farm to fork. As we travelled we learned much from MIchael. But being his gentle self you had to debate and probe to find the depth of his knowledge of the industry and the people in it.
Farewell dear friend . It was good to see that your genes for youthful good looks passed onto to the next generations of your lovely family.

I have very many fond memories of Mr Deely, especially in Pamela’s cafe reading the paper and having a chat. My sincere condolences to all the family. Rest in peace Mr Deely.
