Sincere sympathy to you Mary and to the friends, relatives and neighbours on the passing of Michael. He lived a long interesting life immersed in many aspects be it Farming, Quizzing, Acting or Soccer Management. I enjoyed many a Quiztime joust with him both as an opponent and a teammate and that could be a very interesting experience. In later years, Michael would regail us with great yarns about local characters long gone and I always enjoyed his storytelling. It is fitting that he called me a few months ago after I sent him a Video of the Kerrigan brothers working in their forge and it always brought a smile to his face reminiscing on those bygone days. He served the farming communities of Roscommon and Leitrim in hay and straw for generations and was always good humoured and decent. Being a fellow Liverpool supporters, many a chat we had in the yard and I always respected his knowledge of the game. Dynamo Ruskey now has a heavenly dimension with his going to the great stadium in the sky. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhilis.

I was with you all in spirit and online at Michael Patrick’s farewell Mass. I pray that God of all consolation will help Mary and all who are grieving in sure hope that death is only a step to the fullness of eternal life. Michael Patrick is now enjoying a well earned rest from his lifelong labour and service but love has no end.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Michael had lost his long brave battle with sickness. I had a few very happy years as a player with Dynamo Rooskey and Michael was a father figure to us all.
