I was so sorry yesterday to hear of Mick’s recent death. In his goodness he came to Mum’s funeral last year when he was obviously unwell himself and I was so delighted to see him after so many years. It was always such a pleasure to meet Mick in Hibernian, always smiling, and he was a great friend and valued colleague of my Dad (Neil Soffe) over many years. Always ready for a friendly chat and a slag !. Though he never fully understood the subtleties of Leinster rugby and Louth football. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten. I was so sorry to hear of Mick's passing - sincere sympathy to all the Sheahan family at this difficult time. I have great memories of our younger days in Dublin, we were a bunch of country boys enjoying being in the "big smoke". I particularly recall driving Mick to and from Limerick for a very enjoyable day at the wedding of Paddy and Yvonne Barry. Mick was my insurance "broker" for both car and home until I moved to England in 1987.
Rest in peace Mick.

Deepest sympathy to Phil and family on your great loss. I met Mick once in Mulligan’s after an All Ireland where Kerry had lost to Tyrone and had such fun in his company. I heard about him constantly from my partner, the late Seán Garvey, with whom he kept in close contact. Such a special friendship they had over all those years. May God be good to them both.
