Sincere condolences to all your family and friends. I enjoyed not only his GAA coverage, but also his love of the dogs. I had the pleasure of meeting him once at the track in Tralee. May he rest peacefully. No doubt those gone before him are now enjoying his tales.
Sincere sympathy to Helena and the family on the death of Micheál. Not alone did we enjoy his wonderful commentaries (and, of course, the priceless asides) but we had the pleasure of meeting him and Helena in Moylough, Co. Galway, on the occasion of the unveiling of the Enda Colleran statue. I also met him in Ballinlough, Co. Roscommon in 2011, when he was the Guest of Honour at the Annual Dinner of Williamstown GAA Club. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
A loss to his family, a loss to GAA players all over the World, his County and Country. I did many Co Comms with Micheal but he actually didn't need one as his knowledge, intelligence, sensitivity and charisma was more than enough to paint an accurate picture of any game.
May you rest in peace.
May you rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy to Eamonn and all the family on the passing of Micheál. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h’anam
Comhbrón le muintir Uí Mhuicheartaigh ar fad ar bás Micheál. Fear uasal.

Sincere condolences to Micheáls family. He was a joy to listen too and a pleasure of mine to have met him twice in Tralee in 2018/19 both years while I attended The Rose of Tralee festival.

It is with great regret we learnt about the passing of Micheàl.His great gift of commentary used to light up our sitting room of a championship day .Micheàl will be greatly missed may he rest in peace .
Saddened by Mícháel's passing. As well as being a brilliant speaker and commentator, he was a great advocate for Gaeilge and for his native Kerry. I feel too that the recent viral sandwich making video clearly showed the high regard and affection for him that continued well beyond his retirement. Sympathy to all of his clann. May he rest in peace.
Comhbhrón ó chroí ar bhás Mhícíl. Ag smaoineamh oraibh uilig ag an ama seo. Suaimhneas síoraí dó. Le meas, Peadar, Vivienne, Aisling, Liam & Aoife.

Fear Usual. Our deepest heartfelt sympathy to all the family of this most wonderful gentleman.
Thank you for sharing Michael with the nation and the world every weekend as his voice beamed from the radio, while we sat transfixed to the television (with the sound turned down) listening to his wonderful flow from English to Irish describing and paintng every kick or puck of a ball and sliothar. Such a genuis in our midst.
We pray for his soul and for all of you, and hope that your lifetime of memories ease his parting somewhat.
Rest in peace Michael.

Deepest sympathy to you Helena and all the Muircheartaigh family on the very sad loss of your beloved Micheál. A gentleman and a true legend. It was such a pleasure and an honour to meet you Helena and your daughter at St. Brendan's Cemetary on a recent visit to Dingle. Our thoughts are with you and all the family at this difficult and sad time.
Bhí Micheál mar ghuth na gcluichí le linn m'óige agus bhí sé mar phléisiúr agam aithne a chur air níos déanaí agus é fós i mbarr a réime agus a mhaitheasa. Aon uair go raibh mé ina chomhluadar ag cluiche nó ar chlár bhí sé speisialta. Bhí am aige do ghach éinne agus bhí sé foighneach i gcónaí agus ba léir an sásamh a bhain sé i gcónaí as bheith ag caint le daoine, ba chuma cén cúlra nó stádas a bhí acu. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal agus comhbhrón lena chlann agus a chairde.
Sincere sympathies to Helena & all the Muircheartaigh family on the sad loss of Michaél. Almost 20 yrs ago on November 20th 2004, Michaél visited our school, St..Anne's Loreto Primary School,
Navan, to unveil a bronze sculpture of The Salmon of Knowledge,
An Bradán Feasa, commissioned by the school.
Michaél was on his way to the west of Ireland but he gave generously of his time to be with us on this special occasion. He accepted no fee but advised instead to use what we had offered him for the children. He addressed us all, as only Michaél could & entertained with story all who were present. I look back with pride on that day 20 yrs ago when Michaél gave of his time & graced us with his presence.
Ní bheidh a léithéid ann arís.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

We would like to express our sincere sympathies to Helena and the extended Ó Muircheartaigh family.
In 2004 Micheál attended our Centenary celebrations dinner dance in December in Bandon. He accepted the invite early in the year. He was manager of TG4's Underdogs football team that year and as luck would have it, they had their final game on the same day as the dinner. Micheál promised he would see us and true to his word, following the victory of the Underdogs in Tralee, he drove to Bandon to join us. He arrived late as the band were setting up and refusing a bite to eat, went straight into delivering stories and anecdotes that kept the 400 strong crowd entertained for the next half hour or so. He remained for a little while after for photos and a cup of tea, before heading back to Tralee to join the Underdogs celebrations. He was the highlight of the night and will be remembered in the history of Kilbrittain GAA for years to come.
A gentleman and a true Legend.
Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.
Ar dheis Dè go raibh a anam dilís.

To Nuala and the entire family, my deepest sympathies on the passing of Micheal. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Asian Games and was struck by his vitality, kindness and real appreciation of Irish culture, including of course the Irish language and Gaelic games. He understood and exemplified effective communications in a way that others who study for years simply may never. That natural talent was copperfastened by a rigorous work ethic every day of his life. He was an inspirational yet very humble figure. He will be greatly missed by us all.
Deepest condolences to family and friends on the sad passing of an iconic TV and GAA sporting personality. Ar dheis de go raibh Micheal.
RIP Micheál 🙏
My deepest sympathies to Éamonn, the O’Muircheartaigh clan and extended families, on the sad passing of your much loved dad and the treasured voice of GAA. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Dear Cormac & entire Ò Muircheartaigh families. We were saddened to hear of Michèals passing. Lovely memories of meeting Michèal on a few different occasions but especially in Singapore & Kuala Lumpur!
We lived in Singapore from 2009-2016 & met Michèal in Turf City & The Asian Gaelic Games in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia. As always Michèal had time for everyone, young and old & we have lovely photos with Michèal. Our children (now 18,17 & 15) remember Michèal climbing scaffolding in Turf City to get a great view & commentate on the football games they played as 6/7 year olds. Michèal commentated as if it were an All-Ireland Final in Croke Park! Whilst working in the Irish Embassy in Singapore, it was a great honour to host Michèal for a lovely lunch at Ambassadors Joe Hayes Residence.
As a Cork family, it was lovely Michèal retired after the 2010 All-Ireland Football Final, which Cork won. Unfortunately it was the last All-Ireland football final Cork won!
Michèals passing is the A huge loss to his family & friends (all over the World).
You are all in our thoughts & prayers at this very sad time.
Codlagh Sàmh Michèal.
John, Niamh , Colm, Darragh & Laura Clifford. (Singapore & Cork)

You must be so proud to have been blessed to have him in your lives and for so many wonderful years. Comhbhrón ó chroí le Muintir Uí Mhuircheartaigh ar bhás Mhichíl. Micheál was the voice of the nation, a legend who brought so much happiness into our homes. We remember with great fondness a visit he paid to our small 3-teacher school in Co. Offaly in 1989. He agreed to do a commentary on a hurling match between the pupils of the school, a treasured memory held dear by all those involved. Bhí sé íseal uasal, bringing as much joy to the people of Clonlisk NS that day as he did to the crowds in Croke Park.
