It was a pleasure to work with Paddy for a few years when I started in the civil service. A gentleman, he sorted me out for Liverpool tickets once and also provided us with some great laughs in work. May he rest in peace. Sincere condolences to Muriel and all of the Daly family.
Deepest condolences to Muriel, Lynn, Louise, Emma and Paddy’s legion of friends and fans. Will cherish the memories of time spent with Paddy at International and Champions League matches - great company always and recognised everywhere he went. He kept great photo albums and especially enjoyed the moment he captured Cluxton’s last minute winner at the All Ireland final in 2003. Sorry we were unable to attend the funeral due to a family bereavement of our own.
May Paddy rest in peace.

We loved Patrick like everyone else that was fortunate enough to meet and know him. There is no doubt he was one of a kind and will certainly be truly missed. We continue to pray for you and your family, with deepest sympathy.
Sincere condolences to Paddy’s wife and family. I was in Joeys primary school and first met Paddy when the Marino contingent joined us in the Secondary school. When I returned to Ireland we used to link up at the PPU annual dinners.
My brother Jim was 3 years ahead of us in Joeys and was a Garda and I’m not sure whether he had some influence on Paddy’s decision to join up.
Either way Paddy is a big loss especially to those near and dear to him. RIP

Paddy was a great friend to my father and our entire family and for this I am very greatful.
Paddy was responsible for my Dad becoming a ref...not one of his greatest achievements as I am sure many clubs will tell you...LOL
I regularly had to listen to arguements
between the 3 wise men of Irish soccer..Paddy Daly, Jimmy Quinn and my dad.

Saddened to hear of Paddy's passing. He will be missed by us and many others. Sincere condolences to all Paddy's family. We will keep him and you , his family , in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
To day we laid to rest Paddy with Muriel , Louise , Lynn and Emma with the extended Daly and Mellon , Gavin families nieces ,nephews, cousins , friends from home and abroad , Garda and Referee colleagues. Paddy was a one off , a force of nature, A true legend . I had the pleasure of traversing the USA with him and Tony Hickey twice . Still talked about over 50 years later . The highlight was meeting in person Dolly Parton , a singer he adored and to meet her again in Dublin many years later , he insisted Dolly remembered him . Paddy and Muriel always kept an open house . May his gentle soul forever rest in peace .
‘The tumult and the shouting died,
The Captains and the Kings departed
Still stands thine ancient sacrifice, a humble and contrite heart ,
Lord God of Hosts be with us yet ,
Lest we forget , Lest we forget ‘

From the moment Emma and I became friends, the bond between her and her grandad was evident. He is her favourite topic of conversation and I know that every moment spent with him no matter how mundane or adventurous it was, she would hold it close in her heart because of who she spent it with. I remember meeting Paddy for the first time, he had a big smile on his face but had a quiet, gentle presence that made everyone feel at ease. I hope the stories she has about him will be a place of comfort now. My sincere condolences to you Emma, Muriel, Lynn, Louise and the large group of people whose lives he had such an impact on.

Met Paddy a few years ago in Dublin with his granddaughter Emma - how proud he was to show Emma off.
Paddy was such a great character - a true blue.
Got to know him years ago & he never missed a Christmas without him sending us a Christmas Card.
He rang me up in 2001 when Galway Footballers were in the All Ireland by the back door system - he said "back door, front door, side door, ye don't care what door as long as Galway win An All Ireland" - what a great ststement!
Sleep peacefully Paddy - you were some man for one man.
Godspeed you. Xx

Muriel, Louise, Lynn and Emma - We were sorry to learn of Paddy's passing and send our sincere sympathy to you from St. Louis. We first met Paddy in 1972 when he visited with the International Police Association (IPA) and have many fond memories of our 2002 visit to Ireland and your kind hospitality. We will be keeping all of you in our prayers in the sad days ahead. Farewell to another mighty warrior.
How can you sum up what someone meant to you in just a few sentences? You really can’t… but here’s what my heart keeps saying.
I’ve known Pat “Puddy” Daly for over fifty years, and in all that time he was one of those rare souls who simply lived. He squeezed joy out of every day, could make anyone laugh—even on the days they didn’t think they had it in them—and carried a spark that seemed to follow him wherever he went.
He loved rock and roll, especially Bob Seger, and he could walk the entire length of Manhattan like it was his own personal backyard. Those long city walks, his easy humor, and the way he embraced life are memories I’ll carry forever.
Puddy was a friend in the truest sense of the word, and the world feels a bit dimmer without him. My deepest condolences to the Daly family. May his spirit, joy, and laughter stay close to all of us who loved him.
