Dear Deirdre,

We were so saddened to hear of Pat's passing and want to extend our heartfelt condolences to you and the rest of the family, as well as to his many friends.

We have such lovely memories of our time living next door to yourself and Pat. His warmth, patience, and kindness were evident in everything he did. We’ll never forget how he took such a genuine interest in our son when he was born. Pat’s calm and generous nature was truly something special.

We still marvel at how he never once complained about the noisy newborn next door, or even when Kevin took up the trumpet during those long Covid days! That truly sums up his remarkable tolerance and good spirit.

Please know that we are thinking of you all during this difficult time and holding on to the many fond memories we have of Pat.

First encountered Pat in the mid 80’s when he was heading up operations of the Irish Open Golf tournaments for PJ Carroll and Co. He was a tower of strength in the event management and PR area and freely imparted sound advice and guidance to me at the early days of my company start up.

It was a privilege to know him as an early lecturer in the PRII, a colleague when the Pope came to visit in 1979 and working together twenty years later when the two largest co-ops in Ireland merged.May he rest in peace.

Eveleen and I wish to convey sincere condolences to Deirdre and the wider family circle at this sad time. I had the privilege several years ago of serving alongside Pat on the Board of the NCH, to which he brought qualities of astute judgement, personal consideration and enthusiasm for music.

In the 1960's I first met Pat when he came to CGD as a brand manager working for Aidan Managhan. Over the past 60 years our paths have crossed many times and we always had long, funny and interesting conversations. Rest in Peace Pat, condolences to all your extended family.
