Peter Morton

It is with much sadness that i learnt only today the passing of Peter 15/04/25,i have known him for over 40 years and he was a gentleman and an honor to have known him, he loved the bikes and at any chance he was out on them, he will be missed by everyone who know him, to you Helen and family i offer my my sincere condolences.

Peter was a great neighbour during his short time in Rivermeade, always pleasant & a gentleman, condolences to all his family. RIP

I returned from holidays to hear the terrible news of Peter's passing. My sincerest condolences to Helen and the whole Morton family. I've known Peter fifty years now since racing in the 1970s. He was a true gent on and off the bike and a hugely generous person in every sense. He was also a great comfort to me on the recent death of my wife. He turned up at the house and brought me out for coffee and a chat – just what I needed. The cycling world is very much the poorer without Peter in it. Goodbye my friend. RIP

I was deeply saddened to learn from cycling friends, that we had lost Peter. I raced with him in the 1970s and liked him from that first meeting. I hadn't seen him for a long time until a couple of years ago while out cycling a car passed me, beeped and pulled in. There was Peter, older but instantly recognisable and as nice as ever. The years fell away as we chatted and I learned that his health hadn't been the best. It was a great shock to learn that he'd passed away. We've lost a gentleman, a fine cyclist and a great ambassador for our sport of cycling. My sincere condolences to all the Morton family.

I cherish the wonderful time we spent on the Ferry from Spain last year, talking cycling and reminiscing on old times. He kept in regular contact and I even had a message from him on Tuesday morning. On reading through the condolences here, it shows the highest esteem in which Peter was held amongst his friends and work colleagues and all who knew him. I had the pleasure of working with Peter for a good few years in EEW. He was a fountain of knowledge in many aspects, very helpful and obliging in every way and a great craic.
