Dear Gerry and family it is with great sadness that I have heard of the death of your beloved Phil. I have fond memories of Phil and her dad Dessie when they used to visit us in French’s Villas and the last Christmas they spent with us in Ballyvolane in 1977 I also remember Phil’s mother Noreen coming to Cork back in the day. Dessie was dab hand at making Irish coffee and cooking the Christmas ham. May Phil rest gentle soul in the peace of the good Lord .You are all in our thoughts and prayers

I have just today heard this most dreadful news. There are not enough words to express my shock, but whatever my feelings they can only pale to insignificance when compared to the feelings of sorrow and loss that you Gerry, Eoin, Jennifer and Gerard and your families are experiencing.

My fondest memories of Phil will always be of our younger days—she and my brother hiding comics in their school books when they were supposed to be doing homework, sneaking into the cinema to watch David Essex in Stardust (both underage but not by too much, and he was the teen girls idol in 1974 when the film came to Ireland), and all those endless homemade mock exams when trying to prepare for Sr. Eileen's classes at the Loreto. I am so happy that we had reconnected in the last few years and had the chance to share pictures of our families and to reminisce about younger days. I would never have made it to Canada to visit my daughter if it hadn't been for her encouragement.

Phil is irreplaceable and she will be sorely missed, most definitely by her family but by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
