My deepest condolences to Ann, Kieran and Caroline and the extended Condon family on Philip’s sudden and extremely sad death. The friendship between the Mc Connell and Condon families extends over thirty years and over three continents. We first met Ann and Philip in Washington where we shared many happy memories. Then to Africa where we had wonderful memories of our numerous visits to Philip and Ann in Harare and Johannesburg. Finally, to Ireland where we again visited Philip and Ann at their beautiful home in Ballylickie. I found fantastic comfort and support from both Philip and Ann when my wife, Margaret , passed away some years ago. Words cannot describe the friendship and warmth that was displayed in abundance at all the Condon homes. Philip was indeed a true friend and his passing has left a deep void in my life.
My sons Alan, Gavin and Brendan join with me in extending our heartfelt sympathies to Ann , Kieran and Caroline.
— Sam Mc Connell

To Anne and family, I hope the memories of the great times you shared over the years lessen your deep sorrow at this very sad time.

Kindest regards,

Kevin Murphy.

sending all our love and strength to connie, caroline, kieran, hayley & avery after the very sad and premature passing of philip. he was a man you wanted to be friends with, a husband like no other, a dad you wouldn’t swap for the world and i’m sure a very proud grandfather too. philip was so many things but what springs to my mind immediately are words like jovial, fun, learned, kind, generous, erudite and occasionally he ventured into naughty schoolboy territory! time spent in his company passed like a flash.. playing pool with him in a bar in france being one of my favourites.. and was always too short. the hole he will leave in your lives and in the lives of all who knew him cannot be filled, but the memories we have of him are many and varied and will keep us company for the rest our lives until we meet his grinning smile again. love to you all. david & family.

Deepest condolences to Anne, Caroline, Kieran, Elaine and Mary on the death of a dear relative. Philip proudly told me “I work for the World Bank; our mission is to eliminate poverty.” Few, if any, goals are as clear or noble as that! As an elderly lady told me when my grandfather passed: “May HE rest in peace…and may some of that peace also go to YOU!”
