Philip Marks

Deeply saddened to hear of Philip’s sudden and untimely passing. Many memories come to mind of great weekends that were shared in Philip’s company, in particular a snowy and frost bound New Years weekend of fun and endless laughter in Baltimore in West Cork many years ago. Always fantastic fun, and a generous and welcoming host. A gentleman.

I was at UCD with Philip, neighbours on residence for two years, and we were good friends at the time. We lost touch as I moved abroad afterwards but would often hear of his news through common friends.
I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He is someone I will always think of as very much alive and in the moment. He had the most contagious smile. My most sincere condolences.

Philip was a good friend way back in our days in Gormanston and I had the pleasure of meeting him again a couple of years ago - always such positive person. He was great fun to be around and seemed to be annoying good at whatever sport he put his hand to. One of life’s gentlemen, condolences to all family, relatives and friends.

We have very fond memories of Philip’s time coaching David at Geraldine’s GFC where he instilled a sense of style in the players in addition to his fine footballing skills. My apologies Camila that I could not make it to the Funeral Mass for Philip this morning. However, I did manage to see it Live in its entirety on Webcam.
It was a beautiful and fitting send off that you and all present gave to him and the two eulogies highlighted the love and warmth given to Philip and which he returned abundantly. May Philip Rest in Peace. Amen 🙏.
