Sincerest Sympathy to Bernie, Peter and all Fr. Paddy's friends and relations. He was one of my favourite teachers in St. Jarlath's, inspirational and always kind.

Deepest condolences to the Gill family and friends on the passing of Fr Gill. Fr Gill was a great source of comfort to our family on the tragic death of my brother Fergal. May he reap his reward in Heaven.

Sincerest Sympathy to all Fr. Paddy's many Friends and Relations. Like so many others, I too was fortunate to have him teach me History and Geography in St. Jarlath's in the early 1960's. During that time, he certainly brought Napoleon Bonaparte alive for me! He was also a great Mayo Football Supporter and he served with distinction as Chairman of the Mayo County Minor Board in the mid-'Fifties: Rest in Peace Fr. Paddy.

Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Fr Paddy. From all the tributes, paid to him, he most definitely made a very powerful impact on the people of the parishes and college in which he served. He was an amazing character, his Commerce classes in St Jarlath's were something unique, if they didn't begin with a bit of 'divilment' he would be suspicious and think there was something amiss! When things settle he imparted his extensive knowledge with great skill and dedication.
Fr Paddy will long be remembered for his wonderful kindness, his great wit and infectious good humour, not least his deep love of his native Mayo.
We will all remember Fr Paddy with great fondness from our time in St Jarlath's, he really was a treasure and we were so lucky that he passed our way.

I was very lucky to have the opportunity to meet Fr Paddy on a regular basis in Murrisk N.S when I began teaching there. I thoroughly enjoyed his visits and being able to sit and chat with him. Fr Paddy was a decent, humble and patient teacher who made a lasting impression on all of us who were his students in St Jarlath’s College.
