Was always a pleasure to meet Walter and enjoy lively discussions around belief and disbelief. When I met him a few months ago in Nazareth House his first comment once he recognised me was that we enjoyed some great philosophising. We did indeed !

So sad to hear of Fr. Walter's passing. Deepest condolences to all the McNamara family and extended family. Fr. Wally (and Fr Billy) were such a big part of all our lives growing up in Moveen, Kilkee. We loved his visits to his 1st cousins! He was such a character - so well travelled, intelligent, great fun and so kind & caring. Wally was always there for our family in both the hapoy and more challenging/sad times in life and celebrated many masses/ceremonies with us over the years. May you be reunited with your sisters & brothers in Heaven and Tess and Maisie McNamara (1st cousins). Rest in peace dear Fr Walter. We have such lovely memories of you 💖
