Throughout Rex's life of challenges and victories was the ability to start a business, finish schooling [with degrees], write a book and be named Ireland's Man of the Year! When asked by his brother, Sean, how he pushed ahead to continually push the envelope, Rex calmly replied, "I use my disadvantages to my advantage!"
Well said and well done, Rex.
You will be missed but memories and love continue. You were blessed to have a wonderful sister, Mairead, always there for you. Wished we could have had a chance to share a drink together one more time...but we raise our glasses to you and say Slainte, Go mbeannai Dia Duit....

I knew Rex from Macra na Feirme. He was on the National Executive committee during my term as Macra President and we developed a deep and lasting friendship On one occasion we shared a mattress while sleeping outside the office of the Department of Agriculture after protesting about the lack of support for young farmers.
We look out every day at the Catoniaster hedge he supplied to us during his market gardening period.
His visits to us always led to deep discussions around the dinner table and his infectious chuckle when he was being stirred on some particular aspect of the chat still echoes here.
Our family loved to have him visit us.
We will miss you Rex and you may be gone but you will always be in our memories
Sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Mairead and to all his many friends in Kells.

Rex was such an important part of our Disability Advisory Team in the Office of the Minister of State for Disability. A great advocate for full accessibility and a keen eye for important detail.
Serving with him in more recent years on the Meath Accessible Transport Board ( Flexibus) was a pleasure as he always gave so much of himself to represent so many differing needs and could be depended upon to stop all progress until everything was correct. A great worker with such a positive attitude always.
Sincere sympathy to Mairead and family and friends.
May Rex rest in peace now in his heavenly home. 🙏🕯️💐
