Sorry to learn of Rita's passing. A lovely warm and welcoming lady who was kind enough to put up with us as teenagers. I know that Shaun and her boys adored her. The sad passing of Rita evokes memories of a lovely girl whom we first got to know all those years ago through the wonderful enjoyable nights of 'Parish Nights' and 'Revues' in Drogheda. Rita was a person who possessed a very quiet gentle nature and was such a nice friendly person who we are privileged, to hold so many happy memories shared with her, during those years. We profoundly sympathise with her beloved husband, Shaun, her sons, Karl and Aaron, along with the extended Matthews and Reynolds families.

Rita was very good to me over the years, bringing me to pantomines in Drogheda with backstage access to cast and crew.

I loved going to their house every Christmas Eve. Rita made me feel very special as I was growing up.

Rita was a beautiful lady and so kind and thoughtful. I got to know her when I came to work in Drogheda. She ran the canteen in Dunnes stores, West St. She frequently provided me with a cup of tea and a place to have a smoke when that was allowed. She really took care of everyone that came into her canteen and her kindness really touched me. My condolences to Shawn and the family
