Just looking at other condolences, the word gentleman is repeated over and over and for a very good reason. I have very fond memories of Bertie and he was the most helpful/thoughtful person you could ever meet. Our thoughts are with your family now and may Bertie rest in peace

My deepest condolences to Bertie's family and friends.Bertie was a great friend of mine ,it was an honour to have known him,many a great chat l had with him and many a time met him out on the hills or weekends away with the Corkbackpackers or on the Friday night walk. It was such a shock for all us hillwalkers to hear that Bertie had left us all and gone to the great mountain in the sky., He was one special guy l was so lucky to have known him.
He will be sorely missed by us all,Rest in peace Bertie.
