Dear Shane and Lindy and all of Rogers family and friends,
Please accept our deepest sympathies on your loss.
Such lovely memories of Roger growing up, always caring, always colourful. So sorry not to have known him as we all grew older.
Rest in peace old friend.
— Jennie Delany (Scully) and Family
Roger and I were neighbours and best pals in our single-digit years in the 70's when we terrorised the residents of Torca road in Dalkey. Time with Roger was full of misdemeanours, adventure, mischief and pure divilment, whether is was on a bike, go cart or anything else we could get our hands on. We famously decided to tackle a wasps nest, aged 6, only to discover that it wasn't such a good idea as we then had to stand buck naked in front of his brilliant mum, Patricia, for 2 hours while she tended to our multiple stings from head to toe (and everywhere in between!). We lost touch in our teen years, just meeting on a rugby pitch on a few occasions. Probably just as well or I think we would have ended up in the Joy !
Wonderful memories with a great guy. Love to Shane and Lindy.
— Hugh Pheifer
Very sad to hear of Roger’s passing and my sincere condolences to Roger’s family whom he always spoke so fondly of. Roger was truly one of life’s eccentric, colourful and extremely thoughtful characters. We shared many a long walk, long in part as Roger would always have a word, smile or chat with practically everyone that passed. Always dressed impeccably no matter the occasion, time or day of the week. He had a perfectly timed turn of phrase and wit which kept all in his company smiling and laughing. A true gent.
— Eamonn Crosse
My sincere condolences to Roger’s family. More than a colleague, he was a good friend, who always had a listening ear and great advice to give. May he rest in peace

— Danny & Oonagh Connaughton & family
We never met or spoke but Roger seemed always to be a notable presence in our little village of Ballsbridge.

Hard to miss, his meticulous, colourful way of dressing was remarkable and cheering in a world that is too often grey.

In passing silently like ships in the night, and curious to know this exotic creature and his occupation, it would have been of little surprise to learn that he had just stepped off a film set.

Ballsbridge life will be a little less bright with the passing of this ‘boulevadier’.

Our sincere sympathies to Roger’s family and friends.

May he rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
— A Ballsbridge resident
Heartfelt condolences to Roger's family on his untimely passing.
He was such a lively character. Always had a joke to share around the office and was full of mischief. If you didn't understand his humour, you'd likely to be offended but that's what made him stand out from the rest. Incredibly sad to hear of his passing.
Rest in Peace, Roger.
— Nicola Culligan
