It was heartbreaking to hear of Sean's passing.
I sat beside Sean for most of Secondary School. We were very close friends - Sean, gentle Alan Honeyman and myself. He was the prefect schoolmate; loyal, clever and witty, full of stories and fun. He was hugely popular and top of the class. He naturally excelled at everything he did, including chess, debating and of course sport.
Laterally, Sean rang me at the weekends. We reminisced and he told stories about his life in Africa and his student adventures in America. And he spoke with a burning love and pride in his family. He always seemed to me happy and content in his retirement.
Like so many people, I will miss him profoundly.
