Such a wonderful lady. We had some lovely chats with you when you called in to see my mother and I during Covid.

So sorry to hear of the sad passing of St Maria Kenny. Condolences to All her Family. RIP
— Paul & Ann Dornan
Like many of the family, my memories are many and joyful. As a child I was shy and studious. The excitement of Christmas as a child was tempered with the fear Aunt Marie would try (without success) to pass some Irish Dancing skills to me. Yet, I also knew when the “Girls”, the collective noun used in the family for Paula, Marie & Kay arrived, they would be a treat. Always interested in each of their nieces and nephews (and there are many of us), a gift that would perfectly match our interests but most of all, the gift of love and time. I moved to the UK in the late 1980’s and drove from Birmingham to see Marie in Hackney. Now an (almost) grown man, she still gave me that kindness, love and joy that was her trademark. She also, in a very non-political way, gave me really interesting insights into true social justice. Heroines and Saints are overused terms, but for some people, they are not enough. Rest in peace Marie, your mark will last

I am writing on behalf of my mother Lily a resident in Beechlawn Nursing Home. We would like to pass on our condolences to the family of Sr Maria. You are all in our thoughts & prayers at this very difficult time.
Mam came to Beechlawn last April & the first person to greet her at the door was Sr Maria. She made Mam feel so welcome. She took her under her wing as she knew Mam was very nervous. As a family we will be forever grateful to her for her kindness & compassion. She helped our Mam settle in & consider Beechlawn as her new home. She was a truly wonderful woman.
We know that Sr Maria will be welcomed with open arms into her new home & will rest in peace there.

Another beautiful soul, gone home. My strongest memory is all of us in the house in Donneycarney on Stephen's day. All the adults singing and playing guitars etc. Auntie Marie did Windmills of your mind and Streets of London. So many wonderful memories of a warm and loving lady, who will be greatly missed. So glad we got to take selfies in August.

Deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences from the O'Flaherty family to Sisters Kay and Paula and all the Kenny family of Malahide Road on the passing of Sister Maria (Marie). She was a lovely lady, always a pleasure to meet and have a chat with. We especially remember her regular visits, together with Kay and Paula, to see our mother Una and Auntie Anna while they were in Newpark Care Centre. Those visits meant so much to the two ladies and, no doubt, the three of them are catching up eagerly as I write! Remembering you all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. To all our Kenny Aunts, Uncles , cousins , wider family, friends and Religious Sisters of Charity .

The world has lost such a beautiful , kind , clever , funny , caring , accomplished women and we have lost our loyal , loving , devoted Aunt !

Our hearts are broken for you all as you have lost so much in the last few years .

Auntie Marie we will miss you forever. We are so proud of you and everything that you have done for the poor and the sick all your life. You devoted yourself to God and you took your vocation very seriously. But you were also just my aunt who would turn up to every single occasion that was important to me and just be my aunt , habit and all , there to support , love and encourage me on all my happiest days and the worst days of my life …. I will cherish all those memories and I will be a little lost now on any big occasion without you there. My Dad was so proud of all his family but especially his three sisters who became nuns . He idolised you all ….

It was a privilege and honor to be with you over these last few weeks on your final journey home. To see the devotion of my Aunty Kay and Shelia to you was something to behold. My sisters Aisling and Ellen never left your side and that is a tribute to the woman you were and how cherished and loved you are.

Rest in peace my darling as you so greatly deserve.

Your loving niece and friend
Sinead, Mark , Connor and Clodagh xxxx
