Sincere sympathies to Sr. Pierre’s family and community. It was my good fortune to have Sr. Pierre as my first teacher all those years ago in Scoil Ide. What a good and kind teacher to have. I also bumped into her many times over the years and enjoyed catching up, she always took a great interest in me and the Real family. One of the most memorable times was late one night out in Dublin with an old friend Peter Corr, who I hadn't realised was her nephew. When he found out that I knew her, he insisted on calling her there and then and making me say hello! It is only now, reading this notice, that I have also learned of the death of Peter in 2023. I am so sorry to hear that, I remember him as great fun, and also a very kind person. Belated condolences to the Corr family on his untimely loss.

My sincere condolences to the O'Connor family and to the Mercy Community. Sr. Pierre is remembered as a much-respected teacher, she would always find time to share fond memories of her profession , the people she knew and times gone by . On her retirement from the field of education she gave excellent care for the elderly & her retired Sisters in Catherine McAuley House. Pierre also gave immense support to the staff . I am privileged to have known her and I will miss her wise words and friendship . May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

I was so sorry to learn of the passing of Sr Pierre, her passion for living a full and wonderful life is a memory I so admire.
Being my first teacher I remember her class of fairness, kindness, inclusiveness and compassion for everyone she came across in her day. Ever after when I would meet Sr Pierre she would enquire about all my siblings and over time mine and Brendan’s family. Sr Pierre took great pride in knowing many of us became educators.
I am truly inspired by all Sr Pierre represented as a person in living her wholesome and spiritual life, I have no doubt her wisdom ripples far and wide. I will miss you.
Be assured of our thoughts and prayers for all her family and community at this time.
Rest now in peace Sr Pierre your work is done.

Sincere sympathies to the O’ Connor family and to Sr.Pierre’s community.
Sr.Pierre taught me in Junior Infants in Scoil Íde, she was an amazing strong, intelligent woman, well ahead of her time. She never lost her interest in her past pupils and like my own mother, she was a proud Kerry woman. Years after she left Scoil Íde she would recall perfectly the names of her past students and always loved to hear updates. She had a really genuine interest in people.

Sr Pierre was a legend in Corbally Limerick ...I started school in 1964 at Scoil Ide. Her intelligence, kindness, patience and wit were never forgotten by that five year old. Time and circumstances never diminished the fond memories I and my siblings, Elizabeth and Patrick, have of Sr Pierre. Despite the hundreds of children who passed through her hands, she never failed to remember us ( or our parents) when we ran into each other over the years. Our sincere condolences to her family, friends and community. The Lloyds, Corbally.
