Another character in the history of Crumlin Village gone to the great “self-service” in the sky. I recall his shop when he served at the counter (where you could buy loose butter before the days of parchment wrapping) and which was subsequently converted to a self-service store. He later took over Murray’s next door and ran a great shop - the Rainbow - opening 7 days a week for long hours. A hard and diligent worker who seemed to know the name of every customer.
