The sad news of Steven’s untimely passing has been greeted with much shock by everyone at Rathdrum Rugby Club. Steven played for many years and was Club Captain in 1994/95. At his peak he established himself as one of the finest props in the South-East region. Blessed with the natural strength of a forward and the subtle hands of a back Steven was a player before his time. He will be remembered fondly as not just one of our finest players but also a thorough gentleman on and off the field. His presence will be missed.
We send our condolences to the McKenna family at this sad time, especially to his brother Michael with whom he wore the Rathdrum RFC jersey with great distinction.
May Steven rest in peace.
Henry Cullen – President Rathdrum Rugby Football Club
