My heartfelt sympathies to all the Toomey family on the passing of your beloved Tom.

Tom was very supportive and always very generous with his time whenever I met him with one of my many local history queries!

Regretfully, I was unable to attend the funeral, but I will pay my respects in Bunratty Cemetery.

Rest in Eternal Peace Tom Toomey.
— Veronica Walsh, Bilboa
Only heard this morning while in my local shop (Monaleen Stores) of the passing of Tom. I’m so very sorry and sad to hear the sad news. I only knew him from going into Monaleen stores but there would be great banter about GAA especially hurling as myself and my husband are from Cork. What a true gentleman and so knowledgeable on sport and what a historian. And only found out that my husband worked with Tom in AST. Our sincere condolences to Tom’s family and friends.

He was fairly knowledgeable on the Rugby as well.
