My thoughts are with you Eileen and your dear family, I am so sorry for your loss. As you know, I never met your dear and very special brother Victor but I know how much you loved him, I could always see it in your eyes whenever you spoke of him, which was often. My heartfelt condolences to everyone who loved him.
Sincere condolences to Fran, Emma & Simon, at this very sad time.

Rest in peace Victor. I went to school with him was in the scouts with him. Sad at his passing. My sincere sympathies to his family..
Sincere condolences to Fran, Emma, Simon, Eileen, Anne, Maria, Brian and extended family on the death of their beloved Victor. I have often heard my friend Eileen talk very fondly of him. May he rest in peace.
Fond memories of Victor from the Sixties in the scouts. Glenstall 1968 in particular, attended by Christopher who inspired me to take up the guitar. And Frances, helping out at a Macaoimh holiday, who inspired me to notice that girls could be cool.
I met him recently at an anniversary celebration, he was great to chat with, having overcome a lot by that stage but still stayed the same.
Sympathy to Frances and Anne and all his family. Also sorry to hear of the loss of Christopher.

I have no words, absolutely heartbroken. Condolences to Fran, Simon and Emma
We’re so sad to have lost Uncle Victor.
Fran, Emma, Simon, you have our complete empathy.
Victor was a great uncle, cheeky, smart, stylish and cool. Always with a quick wit, looking cool as he sped about in his Alfa (carphone and all!). He was there along with my Dad at the Bray Wheeler event and Thursday evening meets. He gave me one of my first work experiences at Wigoders on the Long Mile Rd. Time went on layering the wit with wisdom, and he has left us Edmonds with a treasure trove of family history, finding himself on the front page of the Irish Times for his tireless research which was shared in many forms. He’s left a legacy of memories and history but also a mark into the future. He had a great love for the Scouts, and that continues today here in Switzerland, where our eldest is now a Scout (Pfadi).
Gone but never forgotten. We love you, Vic, rest easy.

My deepest condolences to Victor's family on his passing. A nicer gentleman one could not meet. I met with him as members of the Heritage Group and now called the Scouting Trail Patrol. He was always smiling and so willing to volunteer. I, and I'm sure the rest of the members of the Patrol, will miss him and seeing his Dinky Car collection 🚗
May he Rest in Peace
May he Rest in Peace
My deepest sympathy to Fran, Emma and Simon. Victor was a great friend and a diligent researcher, both in his family history and our scout archives. His magnificent well-illustrated publication on the 1st Greystones Scout Pipe Band 1928-1940 was the result of extensive investigations in Ireland and abroad. His wonderful model campsite was a superb exhibit in recent heritage displays.
Despite his health problems in recent years he joined us until recently for work in our archives every Thursday night and always entertained us with stories from his findings.
For his services he was awarded the highest honour in Scouting Ireland - the Order of CúChulainn. We will miss him now that he has Gone Home to his Eternal Campsite where he will truly Rest in Peace.

On behalf of Bray Wheelers Cycling Club, we are so very sorry to hear of the passing of our dear friend and club mate Victor. He was a dedicated and long-time supporter of the club, including many years volunteering to run the Joe Loughman Randonée, with his friend Brendan O’Leary, which raised vital funds for Bray Cancer Support. Victor always had a friendly smile and welcoming word for new members to the club, and was always there to help with so many different events.
He was a hugely popular man, and a long-time volunteer to Irish cycling. He hosted and was race director at the Irish National Cross-county Championships in 1994, and was also team manager at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics for the Irish mountain bike team which was a very proud moment for Bray Wheelers.
We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to all his family, and to his son Simon, also a member of Bray Wheelers.

Our deepest sympathy to Victor's entire family and especially to Eileen who is in my art class in Galway. Eileen has been so upset and concerned about Victor in past recent weeks. She has spoken to me about what a wonderful brother he was and how much she didn't want to lose him. My heart breaks for her and for you all now that such a good brother and a lovely man has left the earth. I know how very much you will miss him. Sending love and prayers from all in your Tuesday class Eileen.
It was with great pleasure I got to know Vic through initially, Bray Wheelers and thereafter, through fixing his glamorous array of sports cars at Hills garage.
I always enjoyed the prolonged chats we had about cycling, Bray Wheelers and the Scouts.
We had great recollections of a time in our younger years when we shared 14 days in unstoppable rain in Portumna at a jamboree.
In the short time I've known Vic I have been impressed by his resilient attitude, cheerfulness and his ability to entertain with his captivating stories, whilst I should have been fixing other people's cars!
For Vic's family I am sorry. You have lost one of life's treasures.

Our deepest condolences to Fran, Emma and Simon on the passing of their beloved husband and father. May Victor rest in peace.
Our deepest sympathies to Fran, Emma and Simon and Victor’s faithful friend Maxi. We have known Victor since he was a boy growing up in Rathfarnham and all through his Scouting years of annual camps and hikes to Latch Hill. He was always great company with his tales and stories. We spoke to him last Saturday still laughing about events of years gone by. May his gentle Soul rest in peace. Victor’s former Scout Master.

So sorry to hear that Victor has passed away. A nicer person you could not meet and he always had a good story to tell. Even though he had health issues over the years he still came up to help out and support the volunteer team up here in Lough Dan Scout Centre. Even if only to make us lunch during our annual tree planting event and in the process regale us with his latest history project. We will plant a few native trees in his memory up on the hill overlooking the Lough and use them as “touch stones” reminding us of him every time we pass by. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family from all the scout volunteers up here in Lough Dan. May he rest in peace.
We will miss our grand Uncle Victor - or Uncle Victy more recently affectionately referred to! He was a mighty story teller and we will always treasure that.
