My deepest condolences to you Corinna and to all of your family on the sad loss of your father Victor. Thinking of you at this very sad and difficult time. May he rest in peace.

I knew Victor when studying as a postgraduate in the department. Our paths only crossed occasionally at research seminars. Nonetheless, I was aware of his gracious intelligence and gentle and supportive presence. It was an honour to have met him. My condolences to his family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Prof Dixon's passing. I was a student of his many years ago, he supervised my dissertation on his beloved Lope de Vega.

My condolences on the death of Victor. I knew him well in Trinity, and he generously contributed much to my Oxford Encyclopedia of Theatre and Performance. I am saddened by the loss of a wonderful scholar and man.

My deepest condolences to Victor's family. I had the great privilege of being both his student and his colleague, and his generosity and enthusiasm made Hispanic Studies a welcoming and inspiring place to be. He made an enormous contribution to Trinity and to the wider academic world and he will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Deepest sympathies of all colleagues past and present in the Department of Hispanic Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Professor Dixon is very fondly remembered by all in Trinity, a most wonderful colleague and outstanding scholar. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Sincere sympathies to the Dixon family. We have been neighbours for over 20 years and we couldn’t have asked for better, kinder, more generous neighbours. Both victor (and Sylvia) wore their huge academic accomplishments on their sleeves. Victor was so pleasant, positive and engaging to chat to. We’ll miss him enormously. Greatly saddened to hear of Prof. Dixon's death. He was a lovely man who remained intellectually lively to the very end of his very well-lived life. Terry told me was revisiting Ulysses with the help of the newly published Oxford Annotations only last year. Sincere sympathy to Sylvia, Terry and Helen, Corinna and Michael, the grandchildren, and thinking of my friend Ros at this time.
