My thoughts are with all the Bowers family at this very sad time. Nicola, so sorry you’ve lost your mum and Emma, your beloved grandmother.
I remember Violet very well. From the late 70s, early 80s, when she was picking up lady hitchhikers in fear they would get into the wrong car. She hosted Oriflame and Tupperware parties to kindly get me started. Violet was always keen to help out wherever she could. I hope she rest in peace, deservedly.

I remember Violet as a very kind, warm and generous person, very much loved by family and so much part of the community who obviously valued her tremendously. I really enjoyed visiting Violet and Hew in their beautiful home and think of those times with great affection. They were both incredibly welcoming and great company despite facing many challenges and struggles. They contributed so much to the parish over the years in so many ways with commitment, good humour and dedication. My prayers and thoughts are with Hew, Nicola, David and Emma at this time as they grieve together, but also as they celebrate Violet's life with love, thankfulness and joy. With every blessing, Vicki.

What a beautiful lady she was and what a lovely person to stop and chat with, which was invariably, in more recent years, from the car window on the roads of Graigavine. She cared for Hew with absolute, love, devotion and compassion. They really were a tight-knit team. Both also shared a deep and enduring friendship with our parents with whom they were true, solid and faithful friends. May you rest in peace Violet, the bed of Heaven to you.
