The death has occurred peacefully of Joseph (Joe) Arkins, Ard Na Gréine Kells, at Our Lady's Hospital Navan, cared for by his loving family and the wonderful medical staff of the hospital. Joe was predeceased by his parents Mena and Joseph, his daughters Sharon and Siobhan, his son Jodie, his sisters Margaret, Stella, Mary,Jenny, brothers Jimmy, and Michael and is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cassie, his sons Andrew, Jono, Marty, sister Ann, brothers Johnny and Willie, grandchildren Andrew, Muirean, Saoirse, and Fionn, great grandchild Willow, daughters in law Amanda and Emma, nephews, nieces, in laws and a large circle of family and friends.

 

Joe's remains will leave from his son Jono & Emma's residence tomorrow Friday 30th April at 5pm, via Maudlin, Castle St, and John St, arriving at St. Colmcille's Church at 5.30pm, private funeral Mass on Saturday 1st May at 11am, followed by burial in St. Colmcille's Cemetery.

Joe as he was known will be fondly remembered as a dedicated & devoted husband, father and grandfather, brother and friend to many. His warm personality, sense of wit and his genuine love for family and friends won the hearts of many. Joe was a former member of the Irish Defence Forces where he earned the respect of members of all ranks. He had a tremendous faith and travelled to Knock Shrine regularly with his wife Cassie on private pilgrimages. The town of Kells both young and old were greatly saddened following the peaceful death of Joe, who loved his native Kells.

 

May Joe's gentle presence be embraced in the gentle care of God and in the company of Our Lady of Knock. May Joe Rest In Peace
