Joseph (Joe) Burke

Joe Burke "Galway's Own" passed peacefully from this life on Saturday 20th February surrounded by his wife Anne, his sister Mary and family in the care of Galway Hospice. He will be deeply missed by his adoring wife Anne, sister Mary, nieces, Anne Murphy (Dunboyne), Cathrina Smith (Dublin), Mary Douglas (Dublin) and Michelle McGurrell (Dunboyne), nephew Brian Murphy (Dublin) grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, sister-in-law Mary, brother-in-law Noel and his wife Ann, nieces-in-law, nephews-in-law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends in music.

In keeping with HSE, NPHET and Public Health guidelines, attendance at funerals is limited. Please respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time. A Mass will be celebrated for the repose of Joe's soul with his family only on Wednesday 24th February at 1:30pm in St. Dympna's, Church, Kilnadeema. For those who would have liked to attend the Mass but cannot due to the current restrictions, Joe's Mass will be streamed on the following link “Joe’s Funeral” do join us online.
Cremation will be held privately in Shannon Crematorium.

Joe's cortège will leave his home at 12:45pm, making its way to St. Dympna's Church, Kilnadeema. Family, friends and neighbours are invited, if they wish, to stand at their homes or line the route, as a mark of support to the family. Please maintain the respect of social distance for each other as directed by HSE and Public Health.

In keeping with current restrictions funerals are limited in numbers to immediate family only.
