Joseph (Joe) Smith

The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Smith Calliaghstown, Kells, Co. Meath, peacefully at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, following a short illness, in the loving care of his loving, devoted family and the wonderful medical staff of the hospital.

Joe, as he was fondly known, was predeceased by his loving wife Kitty and son James, his brothers Martin and Kieran and is survived by his heartbroken daughter Elizabeth (Lizzie) his granddaughter Ciara, son in-law John, sister Bridie, brothers John, Patrick and Michael, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends.

Joe will repose at his residence A82Y2D7 on Thursday 29th from 2pm - 5.30pm House Private for family time thereafter.  Removal from residence at 6pm to arrive at St. Colmcille’s Church at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday 30th at 11am, which can be viewed on https://www.kellsparish.ie/ followed by burial in St. Colmcille's Cemetery.

Joe will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. A gifted tradesman who worked in the construction business for many years. He was an outstanding painter and decorator, any work or project he took on he carried out with great pride. He will also be fondly remembered for his great sense of humour and warm welcome to his home.
