Lawrence Reilly, Maspeth, Queens, New York and formerly of Binghamstown, Belmullet, Co. Mayo, peacefully on 20th September 2021. Predeceased by his father Michael and brother Michael Gerard. Beloved son of Mary (née Kerrigan) and dear brother of Seán (Castlebar), Breda (Piper, Binghamstown, Belmullet), Padraig (Kilkelly) and Anne Marie (Castlebar). He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family – sisters in law Marie and Dolores, nieces Alanna and Roisín, nephews Jack, Lorcán, Paidí and Donnacha, his dear best friend David Caffery, aunts, uncles, relatives, many friends in the States of Pennsylvania and New York, neighbours and friends.

Important Notice - Rearrangements for Lawrence Reilly's Funeral

Due to airline issues at J.F.K. Airport, New York the funeral was delayed and had to be rearranged. Please read the updated arrangements below.

Funeral cortege will depart from the Cargo Section of Dublin International Airport on Sunday at 9 a.m.. Remains will lay in repose at his sister Breda's residence, Piper, Binghamstown, Belmullet (Eircode - F26V1F8) on Monday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. All attending must enter Piper via the turn opposite St. Joseph’s Church, Binghamstown and exit via Emlybeg South. A one way system will be in place with traffic stewarts at each junction. Funeral arriving at St. Brendan’s Church, Tirrane on Tuesday for Funeral Mass at 3 p.m. followed by burial in Emlybeg Cemetery.

 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the “Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust” to be made payable through the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust Online Fundraising - iDonate.

 

Live streaming of the Funeral Mass will be available for viewing on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page with all other funeral services available for viewing at 10 p.m. (Irish Time) on Monday evening. In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Lawrence’s Funeral Mass will be for family, relatives, close friends and neighbours with a maximum of fifty people in attendance at Funeral Mass. For those who would like to pay respects at his sister Breda’s residence (Eircode F26V1F8) on Sunday, please do so from outside the dining room window ensuring health and safety is being upheld.

 

As the funeral cortege passes through the villages enroute to the church and cemetery on Tuesday, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the roadsides, outside the church and cemetery, keeping health and safety to the highest standard. The Reilly family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

 

Memorial Mass for Lawrence will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend the funeral due to the restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence book on this webpage.
