| The death has occurred suddenly of Liam Magee, 22 Viewpoint, Castlebar and formerly of Co. Down. He was born in December 1946. He was son of the late Pat and Nora Magee and he was born at the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in Co. Down. He emigrated to Rochester, New York and his great love was folk music and Irish music. He helped many well known performers get into the music business. In 1999 he returned and settled in the west of Ireland. He had very many friends in Co. Mayo and he was well respected and admired by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his son, daughter, extended family and many friends.
Liam will repose at Kilcoynes Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm where a prayer service will be held and musical tributes to Liam will be performed by his many friends. Cremation will take place in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin on Thursday.
