The death has occurred of Margaret (Margie) BURKE SADAR (née Dodd)
Cabinteely, Dublin

BURKE (Sadar, née Dodd) (Cabinteely, Dublin) – Sadly passed away on July 30th 2020, after an illness bravely borne in the loving presence of her family and compassionate care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Co. Dublin. Margaret (Margie), beautiful inside and out: beloved wife of 59 years, best friend for more, and life partner of magic and mind reading Tony of the Tony & Margie duo; Much loved Mum to son Tony, and daughters, Sandra (US), Sharon, and Elaine (Scotland); Happy, loving Grandma to Naomi, Hamish, Kiaran, Neil, Sarajane, Louise, Saoirse and Chloe. Sadly missed by sister Stella, daughter-in-law Joanne, sons-in-law/partner Bhasker, Malcolm, and Stephen, and extended family, friends and neighbours.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Blackrock Clinic, Blackrock and Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, for their kindness, care and love throughout ‘lockdown’ and Margie’s illness with cancer. Rendered voiceless by her tracheostomy, Margie could say so much with a roll of her brown eyes and miming facial expressions (all with makeup applied daily and hair styled until her passing).

May she rest in peace

Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, graciously accepted to Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Due to government advice regarding public gatherings, a Private Ceremony will take place on 1st August at 4pm in Mount Jerome Crematorium. To get the code to live stream the Ceremony at Mount Jerome email info@mountjerome.ie.

Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to the current restrictions cannot, are welcome to leave a personal message on Margie Burke’s Obituary Notice by clicking on Recent Deaths at Patrick O'Donovan & Sons | Undertaker | Dublin or on the condolence section below.
