The death has occurred of Matthew (Ding) Farrell

The death has occurred peacefully of Matthew Ding Farrell, Old Road, Kilcarn, Balreask Navan and formerly Kells in the loving care of his family and the wonderful dedicated medical team at Our Lady's Hospital Navan, following a long illness accepted with great dignity.

 

Matthew was predeceased by his father Matthew (Matty) on the 10th June 2021 and is survived by his heartbroken mother Theresa, his daughters Molly, and Kelly, sisters Cora, and Triona, brothers Gerard and Joseph, aunties Naney, and Maeve, niece Nicole and nephew Luke, and grand nephew Joshua, brothers in law Ray and Chris, sister in law Catherine,Susann, mother of Matthew's daughters, and a large circle of cousins, relatives and friends.

 

Matthew will repose for family and close friends only on Friday, 23rd July, in James Fox Funeral Home, Abbeylands, Navan from 4pm to 5.30pm, arriving at St. Colmcille's Church, Kells on Saturday, 24th July, for 11am Funeral Mass.

In line with HSE guidelines, 50 people can only attend Matthew's funeral Mass and cremation. Please adhere to Social Distance at the funeral home, Church and Crematorium.

Matthew will be fondly remembered by his family and many close friends as a very positive, sincere and kind person and a gifted artist, whose many outstanding art pieces are treasured in many homes throughout Co. Meath and many parts of Ireland. Matthew shared his great talent of painting with many young artists and earned the respect of many of them.

 

His generosity was also experienced where he donated many of his wonderful pieces to many worthy causes. He was an active member of Kells Musical and Dramatic Society and contributed great energy and enthusiasm to the society, he was a dedicated member of Kells Local Hero's , Kells Tidy Towns and Meath Arts Group, his presence from these groups will be greatly missed.

 

Matthew has left a valuable imprint in the lives of others during his short life, in kindness, generosity and his willingness to share his many gifts and talents with others.
