The death has occurred of Oliver Mac Neill (109 O’Neill Park, Clones and formerly of Millbrook), peacefully at Cavan General Hospital after a short illness. He served his country and the cause of peace overseas as Company Srgt (C.S.) in the Irish Army and member of United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Congo, Sinai and the Lebanon.
Oliver died surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children David, Sean, Brian, Helena and Nuala; the mother of his children Colette; his grandchildren Billie-Jade, Matthew, Tara, Anna, Dylan, Isobel, Grace, Aaron, Luka, Una and Noah; his brother Paul; his son in law Micky, daughters-in-law Ger, Camilla and Nanako; his many nieces and nephews of the Mac Neill, Craig, Maguire and McKay families; and his many other relatives, friends and neighbours.

Oliver will be resting at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Rd., Cavan from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow, Thursday. He will be brought from there on Friday morning at 10.15am to the Sacred Heart Church, Clones to arrive for 11am Requiem Mass with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Given COVID restrictions, it will be a private family funeral. But we hope that you will find a way to mark his passing.
