Pat Conroy

Pat passed peacefully from this life after a long illness bravely borne on Tuesday November 23rd 2021. Pat was surrounded by his devoted family in the exceptional care of all the staff of Galway Hospice Foundation.

Pat is predeceased by his parents, Tom Joe and Ellen, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Maura (nee Holohan).

Pat will be affectionately remembered by his heartbroken children Claire and Brian, by his sisters, Mary (Daly), Helen (Cormican), Bernie (Dillon), Cepta (Flynn), extended Conroy and Holohan families, wonderful neighbours and many friends.

Pat will lie in repose in his home on Friday, 26th November, from 4pm to 7pm.

We please ask for no shaking of hands and for a face mask to be used at all times keeping in line with Government Guidelines.

Pat’s funeral cortege will leave the Conroy family home on Saturday 27th November at 1.30pm to arrive to the Church of The Assumption, Abbey for Requiem Mass at 2pm Pat’s funeral cortege will then proceed to Abbey local Cemetery where Pat will be laid to rest.

House strictly private on Saturday morning please. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Palliative Care c/o Galway Hospice or Irish Motor Neurone Association.

 Pat’s friends wishing to support his family at this sad time may do so and please adhere to Government Guidelines on social distancing if standing along the route of the funeral cortège from the family home and to Abbey local Cemetery.
