The death has occurred of VAL HOARTY
Glenbrack, Gort, Galway

Hoarty Val, Glenbrack, Gort, Co. Galway. Peacefully, on the 16th of October 2020, in the wonderful care of the Galway Hospice, following a long illness bravely borne. Pre-deceased by his dad John and mother Kitty. Beloved husband of Joan and loving dad to Ronan (Athenry), Niall (Gort) & Emer (Gort). Very sadly missed by his wife and family, daughter-in-law Niamh, son-in-law Ken, Niall’s partner Sharon, grandchildren Ava, Evan, Sadhbh, Darragh, Tadhg & Finn. Fondly remembered by his sisters Mary & Helen, mother-in-law Madge Quinn (Labane), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

 

In keeping with current Government guidelines regarding public gatherings, Val’s Funeral will be held privately for immediate family only.

 

Val will rest at home with his loving family. (Please note the family home is private at all times). Val's funeral cortège will arrive at St. Colman's Church, Gort, on Sunday, October 18th, for Requiem Mass at 2 o'clock. Funeral afterwards to St. Colman's Cemetery, Gort, where Val will be laid to rest. Flowers are welcome or donations in his memory can be made to the wonderful Galway Hospice Foundation.

If people wish to pay their respects to Val and the Hoarty and Quinn families, they can do so by forming a static guard of honour from Crowe Street to the church, please adhere to the 2 meters apart guideline (the funeral cortège will arrive at 1.40pm approx). If you would like to be part of the funeral Mass it can be viewed live online on the Gort Parish Facebook page. For those who cannot attend due to the current restrictions please leave a personal message for the family in the Condolence section below.
