Very Reverend Fr. Gerard Galvin
GALVIN (Ardmore, Timoleague and Durrus): On October 13th 2021 peacefully in the loving care of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Ward GB at Cork University Hospital surrounded by his family. Very Reverend Fr. Gerard Galvin (former Parish Priest of Muintir Bhaire) beloved son of the late John and Nellie Galvin, much loved brother of Mary (Beasley), Noreen (Doyle) and Pat. Sadly missed by his loving family, brothers-in-law Barney and Brian, sister-in-law Mary, devoted uncle to his nephews and nieces, best friend Kieran, fellow clergy, relatives, parishioners and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Timoleague on Saturday, October 16th 2021 from 12.30pm to 2pm followed by Concelebrated Requiem Mass at 2.30pm. This will be livestreamed via https://corklivestream.com/funerals . Under Government Guidelines the capacity of the church is limited to 50%. Funeral afterwards to adjoining Cemetery of St. Mologa’s, Timoleague. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired to Ward GB Cork University Hospital c/o O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Clonakilty.
Fr. Gerard’s Funeral Cortege will leave the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Timoleague on Saturday, October 16th 2021 after 2.30pm Requiem Mass proceeding via Chapel Hill, Main Street and onwards to St Mologa’s Cemetery. Please adhere to Government Guidelines on social distancing if attending Funeral Services or Cortege.
