On the occasion of the first anniversary of his death Tom’s wife Ann and sons Tommy, Peter and Douglas would like to thank all who have supported them in the last year. We would like to thank our family, friends and in particular the Bourlum Community for their help in Tom’s short illness and for their ongoing support. We are grateful to those who cared for Tom in his final weeks in St. Luke’s Hospital Rathgar, to the Carlow Community Care Team and to Catherine O’Hare and the Carlow Headway Support Network.
We would also like to thank Fr. Tom Little, Fr. Brian Maguire and especially Fr.Ruairí O’Domhnaill who supported us, celebrated the funeral Mass and prepared the internment prayers for Ann. Also thanks to Rory Healy and his team for their sensitivity and professionalism.
To all those who stood in respectful silence on the day of the funeral en route from our home and outside Carlow cathedral, the Carlow First Responders, the management and staff of St. Catherine’s, thank you. We are grateful to all our former neighbours and friends who lined the route from Greenpark bridge and all who came to Rathfeigh Church and Cemetery.
We are very grateful to all who sent messages of condolence, provided food, sent flowers and who watched the Funeral Mass both here and abroad. Due to Covid restrictions we could not visit Tex’s grave this year and want to thank all who tend the grave for us.
We will not send memorial cards but have decided to donate to charity in lieu. Mass has been offered for your intentions.
Tom’s first anniversary Mass will take place on Sunday, May 9th, at 10.30 and may be viewed on the Carlow Cathedral website.
