'Ruscar Haven', Park View, Kilkenny
Much loved and sadly missed by his beloved wife Mary, family, extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours.
The family of the late Jim Russell of 'Ruscar Haven', Park View, Kilkenny and formerly of Colmanswell, Co. Limerick, wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss.
We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our relatives, friends, neighbours and former work friends who gave such support to our family during this difficult time.
For all those who attended the Requiem Mass, burial, the Kilkenny Greyhound Track friends, work friends and other friends for forming the guard of honour at Foulkstown Cemetery, watched the Mass online, telephoned, called, generously called with food, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, Mass cards, letters, cards and messages of condolence online, we are truly grateful. We know that many more would have liked to attend Jim's Requiem Mass and celebration of his life, but due to restrictions this was not possible.
We thank Jim of Tunstall alarms and the EMT's of the Kilkenny ambulance service, for their prompt professional care.
A very special thank you to all the nursing staff, medical staff, Hospice team, Rev. Fr. Pat Carey (Chaplain), health care assistants, household staff, catering, porters and all departments that cared for Jim, especially the E.D., C.C.U., medical 2 wards of St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, for their compassionate care, respect and professionalism.
A family donation has been given to the Friends of St. Luke's Hospital, Carlow/Kilkenny and we thank you for your donations to them.
Many thanks to Dr. John Cuddihy, Dr. Frank Chambers and all the doctors, practice nurses, medical secretaries, receptionists and staff of Ayrfield Medical Practice, Granges Road, Kilkenny for their kindness, personal, professional care throughout the years. Also the Ayrfield Pharmacy staff.
We are sincerely grateful to Rev. Dr. Éamonn Fitzgibbon for his spiritual guidance and support. The beautiful personalised Requiem Mass and celebration of Jim's life. He would have smiled at the Limerick Jersey being held aloft from the pulpit. Go raibh míle maith agat.
And the Very Rev. Thomas Norris C.C.
Thank you Seán O'Neill (organist) and Martina Burke (soloist) for their moving reflective music.
Finally, thank you Tom and Caran Hehir, Hehir's Funeral Directors for their professionalism, support and kindness. And gravediggers for preparing Jim's final resting place.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions. We will remember you all in our prayers.
