Margaret Hughes

Margaret Hughes (née Donnellan)

Ballycrown, Caher, Clare

Margaret’s husband Colman, daughters Anne, Brid, Mairead and Bernie, sons Michael and Colman, daughter in law, sons in law and much-loved grandchildren would like to acknowledge and thank all those who sympathised and showed incredible kindness and support to us on our sad loss. We appreciate those who called to our home, brought food and refreshments, sent messages, telephoned, sent mass cards, flowers, those who shared their condolences online and posted messages on social media. To those who travelled long distances to be with us, who attended the funeral mass or joined us at the cemetery, who lined the roadside for Margaret’s last journey from her home, giving her a fitting send off in these difficult times, we are most grateful.

To enable our mother to stay at home during her recent illness we required the support of our healthcare professionals. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Milford Homecare Team, the Public Health Nurses, Dr Michelle McNamara and staff of the Scarriff Medical Centre, O’Connells Pharmacy, Ennis, and O’Meara’s Pharmacy, Scarriff, for their care and support to Margaret. In addition,we wish to thank Dr Liam Casserly, Dr Con Cronin and the Renal Team in UHL and Dr Manus McGuire for the many years of excellent care they provided.

Our sincere thanks to Fr James O’Brien for his kind visit and to Fr Joe Mc Mahon for the lovely celebration of her funeral mass, to Sheila, the church sacristan for her help and guidance, In Season Florists and to John and Grainne for their beautiful music and singing in the church.

Also, to Loughnanes Undertakers whose professionalism and understanding guided our family through this very difficult time. A special heartfelt thank you to our wonderful neighbours and friends who prepared our mother’s final resting place. We are grateful to Gerry, Seamus and all Margaret’s friends in the East Clare Singing Group who provided such delightful singing and music at her graveside, she would have enjoyed it immensely.

A sincere thanks to Gary and Mary in Peppers Bar who provided food to our home and to the Lady Gregory Hotel for their hospitality after the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.

Months Mind Mass for Margaret will be celebrated at St Marys Church, Feakle on Sunday, the 5th of September, at 10am.
