The family of the late Seamus Drury (formerly of An Garda Síochána), Kilpatrick, Ballinea, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and formerly of  Ardsoran, Lisserlough, Boyle, Co. Sligo, who died peacefully on the 7th of August 2021, peacefully, in the care of Raheny House Nursing Home, would like to thank most sincerely all those that sympathised with them on the loss of their dear Brother , Brother- In- Law and Uncle, Seamus.

We are forever grateful to our many friends, neighbours and extended family who attended, sent Mass cards and letters, phone calls, left beautiful tributes and condolences online on and sent flowers & wreaths. Thank you to Seamus’ wide circle of neighbours & friends who travelled long distances to be with us & to pay their respects. It truly meant a lot to us. We will treasure your wonderful memories forever.

A special word of thanks to all Seamus’ work colleagues in the Gardaí Síochanna who attended the funeral home & funeral and shared their wonderful heart-warming memories of Seamus - we were truly touched.  Thank you to Inspector Declan McGlynn & others  for organising the Gardaí Escort & accompanying us on Seamus’ final journey from the Funeral Home in Boyle to his final resting place in Seamus’ native Killaraght. Thank you to all those who lined the route for Seamus’ Funeral. Thank you to the Gardaí Síochanna, both past & present, who assisted immensely at Seamus’ Funeral. The  professionalism, help and  respect that you displayed at Seamus’ Funeral was exceptional. A sincere thanks to all those involved.

A sincere thanks to Emmet & Siobhan Cooney of Mahon & O’Dowd Funeral Directors for the professional and sensitive way they carried out Seamus’ Funeral. The support, empathy & compassion you both showed was really appreciated.  Thank you also for the live streaming of Seamus’ Mass which was a special comfort to his brother Michael and other members of the family who could not attend. Thank you also to the grave diggers for preparing Seamus’ resting place.

We would like to thank most sincerely Fr. Joe Caulfield for his beautiful and fitting celebration of Seamus’ life. Thank you also to Fr. Thomas  Mulligan for attending and celebrating the funeral Mass also. We were privileged to have you both there and thank you for the wonderful support you have given the family.  A very special word of thanks to our dear neighbour &  family friend, Fr. Eamon Flanagan, who called to our  home and offered beautiful words of comfort & support to the family.

Thank you to Olivia O’Hanlon for her lovely music which enriched the Mass so wonderfully. Thank you to Attracta Keville, the sacristan, for preparing the church so beautifully for Seamus’ Funeral Mass. A sincere thanks also to Eamon Sharkey for co-ordinating the traffic & to Jacqueline O’Connor for regulating the seating capacity in the church, in line with Covid-19 regulations. We are very appreciative of everyone’s thoughtfulness in adhering to the restrictions in place at the time of Seamus’ Funeral Mass.

Thank you to the Staff & Managment of Raheny House Nursing Home for looking after Seamus while he was in their care.

As it would be impossible to thank you all individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our sincere appreciate and gratitude. We are truly grateful and your kindness will not be forgotten.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Seamus’ Month’s Mind Mass will take place on Sunday, 12th of September, 2021, at 9.30am in St. Attracta’s Church, Killaraght.
