As we lovingly and with a broken heart remember Michael, a wonderful husband and amazing Dad, a loving son, brother and uncle, a faithful friend to so many, we would like to thank the many wonderful people who have helped us travel the journey we have had to embark since Michael left us to go to heaven a year ago:
Our sincere gratitude to Fr Tom Ryan, Fr Danny Broderick and Deacon Conor Bradley, to Fr Kevin Sullivan, Fr Luke Roche, Fr Oscar O’Leary OFM, Fr Caoimhin O’Laoide OFM and Br Pat Lynch OFM as well as Fr Derek O’Connell OH, who celebrated Michael’s funeral mass and months mind. A heartfelt thank you to Fr Teddy Linehan who went to see Michael in hospital on a number of occasions. Thank you so much to our Kiltallagh church choir for their consoling music both at the funeral and months mind.
Thank you to the wonderful and kind doctors and nurses at Kerry University Hospital who cared for Michael as well as the paramedics who gave him such comfort and reassurance.
Go raibh míle maith agat to the Management of Astellas Ireland Ltd. for their amazing support to us and to Michael’s friends and work colleagues at Astellas who turned out in their hundreds to form a guard of honour along with our neighbours, friends, my own work colleagues and former work colleagues, Castlemaine parishioners and Miriam’s teachers and her friends & their parents, all of whom stood at the side of the road to give Michael the last honour all the way from our house to Kiltallagh church. You will never know how much this meant to us and how much comfort it brought us to see just how well liked and loved Michael was.
To Gerard Flynn undertakers for the professional, kind and incredibly caring service and support at what was the single most difficult time in our lives – thank you!
To our incredibly caring friends, many of whom travelled long distances, work colleagues, neighbours, the wonderful people in our parish, Miriam’s friends & their parents as well as Mr Fell, Ms O'Dowd and the teachers and SNAs at Nagle Rice PS, so many of whom keep checking in on us, particularly when we are simply not able to reach out ourselves – thank you!
Thank you for all the kind words and sentiments, the squeeze of the arm, the genuine, caring enquiries of ‘How are you’, all the letters, the mass cards and messages that we have received and for all the beautiful, comforting messages left on RIP.ie.
To the many, many people and friends all over Ireland, in Austria, Italy, the US, the UK and in Medjugorje who prayed for Michael during his sickness - you will never know how much comfort that brought us!
To each and every person who has helped us in so many wonderful ways on this journey that we had to embark last year, from the bottom of our hearts: Go raibh míle maith agat!
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deep gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
Michael, you blessed this world and you loved so much,
just how many hearts your life did touch! Thank you for the gift of you in our lives!
Forever in our hearts and sadly missed by
and all the Harris family
